Google indicates that I am not the first to associate Colonel Mustard and Sergeant Pepper. But it's less obvious that anyone else has connected them both to Private Mayo, nicknamed "Mayonnaise," from An Officer and a Gentleman.

In any event, the questions of why the military loves condimental surnames naturally follows. I theorize that it has something to do with the ill reputation of mess hall meals.

I'm surprised there's no General Tobasco, he's the guy who makes MRE's E-able.

Kudos to you for checking yourself in this way. I do it too.

I wonder if I ever told you about the slang race I am having with my husband? We each planted a new slang term in the soil of our culture and are waiting for them to come back to us independently.

I think I worked hardest on this as I don't even remember his entry!

Mine is referring to coffee as Joeville Units. Google that and every occurance is from me.

So far!
