My work computer is taking longer to get going in the morning with each task.

I think I'm a bad influence on it.

Let's just hope it isn't the hard drive wearing out. Most of the time, before they start actually failing, they simply start slowing down.

Yes, I am speaking from unfortunate experience here.

If it's just a gradual slight decline taking place over several years, then you're probably fine; it might just be fragmentation et cetera. But if you ever notice it suddenly taking longer than one second to read a single sector, it's backup time!

My previous home computer slowing down was the whole reason I bought a new one. I figured it was a dying HD. But my work computer is relatively new; it shouldn't have that problem.

I think we got new computers two years ago, tho it doesn't feel that long. I'm not sure how to convey how much it's slowing.
