(no subject)

GOOD: Zappos.com gave me free priority shipping on my latest order. Just some random kindness to satisfy customers, I guess.

BAD: They sent a very wrong style of shoes, even tho the included description on paper matches my order. I'll return it when I get the chance...

WORSE: ...which may take a while with this weather. The snow gave me no trouble getting out my door, but traffic's gotten ugly and two consecutive subway trains offloaded at my station yesterday morning.

GOOD: I was allowed to go home early yesterday, even having come in late. This let me have a home dinner as soon as I wanted.

UGLY: If I'd waited much later, I'd be screwed, because the power went out. For the rest of the night, it wouldn't come on for more than a split second. For all I know, it's still off. I wore extra clothing to bed and skipped my morning shower, tho I did try shaving.

GOOD: This outage gave me and my housemates an incentive to hang out and talk with each other. I got to know which one is into movies.

BAD: She's moving to California soon. Will I be the only renter left for a long time?

GOOD: After much discussion, we decided to watch Eight Men Out on a laptop.

BAD: It kept pausing to reload slowly. Just over an hour into the movie, we decided to give up.

GOOD: We still enjoyed Tostitos with salsa and sour cream together.

SLIGHTLY BAD: The salsa got on my robe, which I'd washed recently.

GOOD: I awoke only slightly late this morning (no alarm) and had no trouble coming into the office. No power problems here, and little work going around.

SLIGHTLY BAD: A co-worker's baby shower has been postponed to tomorrow.
