(no subject)
When I came back to the office today, I had some pleasant surprises. There weren't as many messages waiting as I predicted, and they included no new assignments or requests from anyone who didn't know I was away; in fact, one announced the cancellation of two expected big assignments. I'd been worried about my timesheet from the first half of the month, which I should have signed by a week ago, but my supervisor got the authority to handle it and my paystub indicates no penalty. The Belgian chocolates I brought were not the least bit melted from riding in a sunbaked trunk in DC. And on my chair was an Award for Distinguished Technical Communication from the Society for Technical Communication, which my office mate kindly advised me to add to my resume.
