Big Hairy Deal

I once observed No-Shave November
By sporting a mustache alone.
I knew it as only “Movember”;
I figured no beard need be grown.

When later I learned more about it,
I opted to go for a beard.
But since I’d spent ages without it,
The feeling was utterly weird.

I easily got too distracted
By pawing the brush on my face.
Performance at work was impacted,
If only in terms of my pace.

The itching got borderline painful.
That’s something I couldn’t ignore.
I hope that you won’t be disdainful.
I simply could stand it no more.

When off came the bulk of my stubble,
The month wasn’t even half done.
I’ll never go back to that trouble.
