My most recent play experience taught me something unfortunate about myself: I do not take well to the sound of theatrical guns. Even when I see the gun and know the shot's coming any second, I jump out of my seat when it comes. This despite having played with a cap gun (outdoors) as a kid. Of course, being close to the stage didn't help.

Just as well that the play I intend to start writing on Thursday takes place before the invention of guns.
