Now that my catsitting session is over, I'll share my observations on the cats in question:

1. Sheena is the most sociable cat any of us has ever known. As long as there were no closed doors between us, she was nearby if not upon me. Quite the lap cat, and once a lower back cat (I was lying on my stomach). Her nails are long, but she was careful not to hurt me when kneading. Only a couple of times did she give me a start by putting her teeth on me -- not a bite, but a playful gesture.

2. Cocoa is the more vocal, tho that's not, eheh, saying much. When she makes a squeaky meow, it means she's about to carry a "kill" into the room, usually a toy mouse. (Molly had a similarly idiosyncratic noise when watching birds.)

3. Both cats have loud purrs. I called Sheena "Little Miss Gigapurr" and Cocoa "Bigga Giga." Mom approves. They're cheesy nicknames, but cats merit such.

4. They love to hunt crickets. I found many detached legs as well as the occasional intact carcass. Since crickets are most plentiful in the basement, it isn't hard to get the cats to stay there long enough for me to close them in for the night.

5. There was one day when the two did not chase and fight each other when I was around. On most days, it's their prime activity. Neither has shown any signs of injury, so we know it's playful. They did break a plant pot, tho.

Indeed, in the wake of Sheena's weaning, they're rather like sisters. Mom considers herself "mom" to both. And I'm they're "uncle." Don't think too hard on it.
