I discovered last night, and read again in a company email a minute ago, that Netflix now offers a free Wii channel for "instant" viewings. The email surprised me, because I already have a disc that allows the same thing. I understand the financial benefit to Netflix, as well as the environmental benefit, of not sending out any more free discs, but why would I switch?

The only advantage I see is that I wouldn't have to bother swapping discs to transition from a movie to a game or vice versa. Lazy as I am, to me that's not worth the space a channel would take up. I've hit the limit for memory blocks in the past, and I may yet again.

If anyone can think of a better reason to switch my method, please say so.

The different delivery methods are just for cross-promotional reasons. I rent the good stuff by mail for maximum performance (I have a BluRay player and HDTV). For mediocre shows like bad cartoons, I sometimes download directly to the computer and watch them there.
