(no subject)
Here's something I've known for nearly two months, but only today did I get express permission to mention it here.
My dad went to lunch with some out-of-town relatives, among them my great aunt. She announced that she had big news, paused suspensefully, and then said simply my absent eldest cousin's name. They quickly figured out what this meant, as this female cousin has been married for more than seven years.
That's right: After years of me having no appreciably close relatives under age 18, the next generation is finally on its way. I'm going to be a mother's cousin.
