You could call it a "minor loss"
My sister turns 21 today. By many if not most people's standards, my immediate family has no more kids. The closest relative I have now who's a minor is a 16-year-old first cousin I almost never see.
Sarah and I have developed an unfortunate habit of getting each other's birthday presents late, if ever. Holidays are another matter, since we shop for more than one person then (and there are reminders everywhere). I have not bought Sarah a gift yet, and there is not much pressure for me to hurry because she's at college. Our parents gave her gifts on the last day she was here, tho, so I feel like a lazy smurfhole. Must stop playing rented games long enough to check her ever-paltry wish list.
...That's another thing. Sarah and I don't have much personality in common, but at this point, neither of us can easily come up with a wish list long enough not to cramp our giftgivers. Of course, as "faults" go, that's terrific. The only faith I know to consider material satisfaction a bad thing overall is the religion of greed.
