I have a confession to you, my LJ brothers and sisters. On Wednesday night, I wrote a PG-rated piece of fanfiction in the subgenre known as het. It involved two fully adult Harry Potter characters and more magic than any of the few HP fanfics I've seen. The purpose was not to arouse but to amuse; the couple was deliberately ugly. If anyone saw my story and declared they had a new "one true pairing," I would assume they were joking.
So far, only Ashkitty has seen it, and she said it was very funny even if a tad disturbing. Despite this positive review, I expect never to write more het, however clean or satirical. I'm not sure what to do with the story as it is, since I imagine that posting it here behind a cut would intimidate more of my readers than it would intrigue. If any of you are curious enough, I can send you the story or hint at a few details.
Why did I write it in the first place when I usually avoid lurid fanfics? I must have been smiling back on when I read a PG-rated short involving Lord Voldemort and...oh, forget it; some of you wouldn't have enough brain bleach. Anyway, my creative spirit must have been on hold too long and demanded to do something.
My mom is correct: as prudishly as I carry myself much of the time, I can be quite twisted sometimes. More on that later.

*ahem*
I think it's a human thing in general. Even the most normal and prudish of people occasionally get the unbridled urge to do... something... BIZARRE.
