Ad for a rave (not that kind)

A friend of mine recently revived the LJ meme in which one rants on any requested subject. I thought of doing it again myself, but I'm trying to increase my positivity. So here's a variant:

Please give me a subject on which to rave.

NOTE: I reserve the right to reject a rave if I really resent it (yay for sensible consonance!) or if I know almost nothing about the topic. That rules out most modern TV.

Hm, the hard part will be getting this not to look like many others' raves on soldiers. Oh well, I imagine that few people are reading comments to the entry at this point. Ahem.

I have to hand it to soldiers. They go thru more than I dare imagine in earnest, even before entering any combat zones. I can't say that I'd handle the average soldier's situation half as well as the average soldier -- and that goes for any army in any period. And despite the commonality of dire straits afterward, an impressive percentage of vets have it pretty well together behaviorally.

(If you want me to rave about the Army itself, forget it.)
